💥💥 For the next two weeks, I am sharing one #healthyhabit I practice every day 💥💥 Starting today, join me, Coach Deb, for a 14 Day #HealthyHabitAccountabilityChallenge. Today (Friday) we'll start off with a bit of homework to get you prepped, then beginning Monday, I'll post daily with a healthy habit we can all do together to help keep ourselves accountable during this time of #selfisolation. DAY 1: Start a three-day food journal


Day one is all about setting yourself up with accurate information, so this challenge actually requires you to pay attention to what's actually going into your body for the next three days.


Record every single food and drink that goes into your mouth. An honest food journal will give you the raw data you need to overcome eating habits you are not aware of (or just plain ignoring) and allows you to get a more realistic picture of how many calories, carbs, protein, and fat you are eating now. Do you have a #quantity or #quality of food issues? Sometimes it's both.

Recording your intake gives you the information to begin the #change process. You can easily see if you skip meals, emotionally eat, or are missing vital nutritional components. I suggest you try one of two easy ways. Write it down in a #journal. I use the @fooducate ap versus writing everything into a book. I also recommend MyFitnessPal.


Do you want even more accuracy? Take photos of everything you consume. You may be shocked to see the #quality and #quantity disparity between what you think you're eating (we usually underestimate), and what you're honestly doing. Your phone works wonders, but one ap I like and do recommend for this option is called @dietsnaps. There's a ton of free and reasonably priced online apps out there to use, so do your homework and figure out which option works best for you. Why record my food? Well, we humans are notorious for underestimating how many calories we are putting into our bodies and is easily the most common reasons why people don't lose weight or fat. After all, it's impossible to solve a problem that you don't know exists. As I like to say, "you can't change what you're not aware of." And I practice what I preach. I record my food intake frequently because it's so easy to underestimate what we're eating in terms of calories, macros, and the type of nutrition. As a nutrition coach, and fellow regular human being, this is such an expensive habit of creating #awareness, a plan of action on what needs to change, be added to or removed, and most importantly, #accountability.

This 14-day challenge can be an excellent way to help keep yourself accountable to your health and wellness goals AND connected during this time of self-isolation.
