DAY 5 - Break Up With The Instant Fix Mentality


Today's #healthyhabitchallenge may well make you laugh, and you may have, but deep down, we've ALL done this behavior when attempting to lose weight, change a habit, or learn a new skill.

Who's guilty of this?


I know I've done it many times over the years, but thankfully not anymore. Results come from a change in #mindset, and consistent forward-moving #lifestylechoices strung together with #patience, #perserverance, and a willingness to #work.

That means, the RESULTS ARE HAPPENING, but they may not appear in the way you want or expect to see them immediately. Most individuals working on changing their #nutrition and #exercise habits to produce a #bodycomposition change, get entirely focused on the number reading out on the scale. And they want it now with little time investment or long-term lifestyle change.

Are you PATIENT with the PROCESS? Ask yourself that question. The long-term change won't happen in a day or even a few weeks. But it doesn't mean that changes aren't happening.

And that's the trap because if you expect an immediate result and only focus on that instead of how you feel, sleep, perform or fit into your clothes, you might jump around from one extreme diet to another and cause more harm in the long run. ... Many people are not willing to endure the monotony to ensure their success. You have to show up day after day, and be consistent with the plan put into place—no starving, no over-exercising, no restricting certain foods, but learning to heal and find balance.


There is no magic pill or formula. It's about doing what's right for you in the context of your life and then DOING IT day-after-day-after-day to be your healthiest self. Are you willing to endure the monotony?
