Day 2 - Eat According to Your #CoreValues

It's easy for me as a coach to help others with their #nutrition, #health, and #fitness goals because I am a normal human being who has struggled with the same things as you have. We are all challenged to learn how to live and work according to my #corevalues, and I approach my coaching philosophy is one that has compassion, empathy and understands that we all make mistakes and can learn and change from them. I try to bring my own experiences with truth and honesty to the conversation. I don't pretend to be perfect. I don't pretend to have all the answers. And I don't believe that "one size fits all."

Why? Because you are more than just a body. You are more than your weight on a scale. Being human and operating in your body means you have to figure out what works for you and what your #corevalues are in order to live your life around them. It's a process of discovery that I believe we all continue to work on and practice as we age. I've struggled, done crash diets, been duped into #mlm detoxes, pills, and powders, restricted certain foods, binged on others, dealt with shame, starving myself, and over-exercising. And then I stopped — all of it. No, I didn't do it cold turkey? Cold turkey often creates more binge-like behavior over time due to perceived restrictions. No, I worked on stopping one habit and non-productive behavior at a time.

And I decided to live according to what I wanted in life. [See my Core Values].

And I changed. It was hard work, and some days the ghosts reappear. During this time of self-isolation due to COVID-19, the old behaviors reared their ugly heads. I won't tell you I was perfect. I had some days where I regret my actions, but it didn't define me, cause me to shame spiral or self-flagellate. I've learned to identify and assess, then decide how I want to proceed. But they come less frequently now, and I love who I am. And I have experience and wisdom to share. I have learned to eat according to my #corevalues, and although I'm an imperfect person just like everyone else, I have days where I stray. So, as I make mistakes, correct them and move forward, I think it's so important to share my vulnerability and humanness. As then as your coach, I can share my experience, and then strive to help my clients discover theirs. I strive to listen with compassion, hear and acknowledge vulnerability, and work with my clients to change their habits and create new, life-long, and sustainable behaviors that support the goals.

I believe I am a #truthteller. I'm willing to have uncomfortable and fierce conversations and help create the changes needed to support who you want to be. I can help you figure out your core values and begin eating and living your life according to them. It won't come from a diet, pills, rules, or restrictions. It will come from healing the whole you, in mind, body, and spirit. Learning to find balance fresh, whole foods, establish a sustainable fitness program, getting plenty of sleep, and finding ways to reduce stress and nurture healthy relationships.
