Trainer History

 
  Deborah Preachuk is a Level-II Posture Alignment Specialist certified through the Egoscue University® and affiliated with Egoscue Method and Egoscue University® out of Del Mar, CA.

She is one of very few Posture Alignment Specialists within the state of Minnesota.

With over 20 years teaching experience, Deb's clients include clients of all ages from as young as 9 to 102.

She has trained physician/chiropractic referrals, Olympic and NCAA athletes, LPGA Golf Pros, attorneys, accountants, computer and other business professionals, stay-at-home parents, health care professionals, educators, elite and recreational athletes (swimming, skating, basketball, baseball, competitive kick-line, soccer, track & field, running, golf, volleyball), interior designers, child care providers, and small business owners.

In the fall of 2009 Deb took a position as an Adjunct Instructor at Dakota County Technical College where she is teaching the American Council on Exercise Group Fitness Instruction course in the Exercise and Sport Science Department.   

Look for Deb to join The Egoscue University staff as an Affiliate Instructor! Deb is travelling once more to Del Mar to finish her Affiliate Instructor Certification in February 2010.  As an additional highlight, she was honored to be featured as the January 2010 Egoscue University Spotlight Student.    



         

                      


  Deb is also a highly accomplished Level-II Comprehensive STOTT PILATES®certified instructor. This was no small feat while raising three small children! This certification required Deb to do the following:


Comprehensive Matwork & Reformer Total: 310 Hours
  • 30 hours functional anatomy
  • 90 hours instruction & supervised teaching
  • Minimum 20 hours observation
  • Minimum 70 hours physical review
  • Minimum 40 hours practice teaching
  • 60 hours apprenticeship performed upon completion

Comprehensive Cadillac, Chair and Barrels Total: 165 Hours
  • 50 hours instruction & supervised teaching
  • Minimum 10 hours observation
  • Minimum 40 hours physical review
  • Minimum 25 hours practice teaching
  • 40 hours apprenticeship performed upon completion

Advanced Certification Total: 36 Hours

The Advanced (Level 2) program begins with a review of relevant Essential and Intermediate exercises, then students learn to apply STOTT PILATES biomechanical principles to exercises that require a higher degree of strength, balance and coordination.
  • Advanced Matwork Certification Total: 6 Hours
  • Advanced Reformer Certification Total: 18 Hours
  • Advanced Cadillac Total: 6 Hours
  • Advanced Stability Chair Total: 3 Hours
  • Advanced Barrels Total: 3 Hours

Injuries & Special Populations Total: 24 Hours
  • How to customize workouts to address:
    • weaknesses
    • health conditions
    • postural problems
    • injuries
  • Approaches to rehabilitating an injured musculoskeletal system
  • Anatomy and biomechanics, dysfunctions and pathologies, and exercise modifications in the: lumbo-pelvic, cervical, upper quadrant, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, ankle and foot regions
  • Pregnancy, fibromyalgia and other special conditions plus workout design
  • Appropriate modification of Matwork, Reformer, Cadillac, Stability Chair and Barrel exercises

In addition to her work at Pain Free Posture MN and Pilates Integration M.B.S., Deb has a love and passion for teaching group fitness.  Deb is an accredited 5-Star Group Fitness instructor and teaches frequently at various Life Time Fitness locations throughout the beautiful state of Minnesota.

Bringing her specialized education of restorative movement in mind, body and spirit Deb works tirelessly to educate members how to incorporate corrective exercise to maintain, and/or restore health and function for their entire well-being is her life pursuit and passion.   

She is thrilled to be a contributing instructor in the brand new Life Time Fitness LifePower Yoga program at St. Louis Park Life Time Fitness.
