How to Sit With Correct Posture

How to Sit With Correct Posture

A few weeks ago, I had the absolute privilege of being asked to help contribute my opinion and expertise in the creation of Wayfair.com's blog article called The Ultimate Guide to Ergonomic Workstations.

In my interview I was asked:

  1. What are some tips to improve posture while at your desk?
  2. Does the style of an office chair have any effect on its ergonomics? Are there any features that can help improve posture throughout the day like arm rests or height adjustment?
  3. Can different types of chairs or office furniture help with posture? (yoga ball chair, standing desk, standing matts, etc.)
  4. What is your ultimate tip to improving posture that a lot of people don't know about?

The result helped create this!

I love how it turned out, and it reflects all the things I coach and teach my clients here at PainFree Posture MN!  It was an absolute honor to work with the writing staff at Wayfair.com, and to be included in the featured specialists panel.  Be sure to keep scrolling down and check out each of the Pro Tips.   There's some great stuff there!

Additionally, I would encourage anyone who has to sit for prolonged periods of time to take regularly scheduled "posture breaks".  Switch things up to standing, take a short walk, or do some easy exercises to help alleviate any muscle aches or pains from holding static or small motor movement patterns and having your head and eyes fixed on a screen!

I've written a few other blog articles on Puori (formerly PurePharma) that have exercises and advice you can follow to do just that.
